Passionate about women’s empowerment, policy and writing in less than 140 characters, Sophia uses her love of social media and the power of storytelling to shift the conversation on issues impacting women and communities of color.
During the day she works at Advocates for Youth, a national organization that champions efforts to help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Sophia serves as the Manager of State Policy and Partnerships where she runs Advocates’ sex education advocacy and civic engagement efforts at the state and local level.
She is also the Development Director of the Women’s Information Network (WIN), Washington DC’s premier professional, political, and social network dedicated to empowering pro-choice, Democratic women, where she drives the organization’s fundraising strategy. Sophia is an alumna of American University’s Women and Politics Institute’s WeLead program, a bipartisan leadership-training program that works to increase the number of women working in politics and running for office.
