Chances are, you came across this article while searching for networking opportunities. You are probably reading this on your phone, tablet or laptop – maybe you even found out about Eventsy through various social media websites. But truth be told, many social platforms function as a way to maintain relationships you have already formed.
You may have gained acquaintances on LinkedIn through mutual connections, or a new follower because of a shared hashtag, but how can you really be sure that these are people you can connect with on an intellectual level? Anyone can put on a tie, press the button to shoot a good selfie and add it as their profile picture. How do you know this person truly represents themselves in a professional manner?
You can tell a lot about a person by their smile, their handshake and their way of carrying themselves, and all of these traits are difficult to interpret on an online profile. Nothing quite beats the facial expression you have when you realize you’ve made a genuine connection with the person you are talking to, and laughing out loud is much more of a connection when acted out, instead of typed out in an abbreviation.
Where does one acquire new contacts, you may ask? Eventsy specializes in bringing busy professionals together for networking and social purposes.
Here are just a few events we have coming up in the coming week. Join us for a few drinks, socializing and sports tonight, Wednesday, at the Stumble Inn.
On January 9, we’re gathering for our small business networking social, where small business owners, start-up founders, entrepreneurs and anyone with an interest in networking will be gathering to exchange ideas and contacts. Click here for additional information and to register.

So turn your laptop off and put your phone back in your pocket. The connection you need to get your dream job could be just an event away. We’ll see you soon!
