Some of our events are targeted towards the young professionals of New York City—so what exactly makes one a professional?
Maybe you’re a recent grad who is in the process of landing your first “real job”. Or, maybe you’re an undergraduate who is looking to gain as much experience as possible, in hopes of determining which career could be the best fit. This blog post is for you!
The term young professional is broad and vague, but it means whatever you make it. It doesn’t necessarily refer to years of experience in a specific field, but it also doesn’t refer to having no interest in gaining experience in the professional world. Here at Eventsy, we like to consider those who present themselves in a professional manner, and who are driven towards advancing themselves, to be the young professionals.
Being in New York City sets you at a major advantage. From all the unique connections, the nightlife, and of course, the abundance of happy hour and brunch specials—the fun is truly never-ending. All the excitement can easily become a distraction, if you let it.
How often do you think of yourself? Yes, we want you to become a little bit selfish. As we mentioned in one of our recent blog posts, we want our Eventsy members to “party with a purpose”. Everyone loves to have fun, because we need fun in order to stay sane. But, are you using every opportunity available to get to know the people around you?
As millennials, this can sometimes be presented as a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be. Networking doesn’t have to be difficult or nerve wrecking. We’re here to help! Check out the articles below for some inspiration:
