Katina Mountanos

Katerina (Katina) Mountanos co-founded Manicube, a company focused on improving the lives of working professionals by offering affordable, high-quality services in corporate offices. The company currently serves over 200 corporate clients and over 30,000 end customers across four US markets – New York, Boston, Chicago & San Francisco. In November 2015, Manicube was acquired by Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas. Katina now serves as the Co-President of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa’s Red Door to division. This is the division focused on all services that take place outside of brick-and-mortar spas and salons.

Katina began her career as a corporate investment banker at Citigroup. During her tenure, she worked both in the Manhattan headquarters and London offices. After four years at Citigroup, Katina switched gears and decided to follow her passion and pursue a career in the beauty industry.

Katina began as a marketing manager at L’Oreal, the world’s largest cosmetics company, and focused her efforts on new brand and product innovation for the L’Oreal Paris line. Katina then moved on to Quidsi (an e-commerce company eventually acquired by Amazon) as a beauty category merchandiser for the launch of Soap.com. She then became the general manager of online luxury beauty product website BeautyBar.com. As leader of the original BeautyBar team, Katina got her first glimpse at the effort and enterprise it takes to launch a new business. Katina holds a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Katina’s determination to improve the lives of women stemmed primarily from her time in financial services. She noticed that there were endless in-office services catered to men and initiated by the male executives, however few existed for women. She realized that if there were services tailored and accessible to the female workforce, women could establish a more balanced life, therefore providing them the opportunity to further excel in the workplace. On that thought, Manicube was created.

When Katina isn’t growing the Manicube/Red Door Spa brand, she enjoys exercising, hanging out with family and friends, and watching indie films. She has been committed to getting weekly manicures since she was 18 years old, and now partakes in them weekly in the Manicube office. Katina’s signature style is a classic blend of Essie’s Marshmallow and Waltz.
